2–3 person outdoor electric sauna on an existing paver patio, with a glass door instead of windows and mechanical ventilation.
This one is close to a repeat of our compact 5x6 build in Stateline — same footprint, same heater, same ventilation approach — with a few changes for a different yard and a different owner. The owner already had a paver patio and a dedicated 240V circuit right where she wanted the sauna, so the structure sits on a pressure-treated wood frame on top of the pavers. No excavation, no concrete. We dropped the floor joists from 2x6 to 2x4 to keep the overall height down, since the sauna sits close to the house and an exterior door. The biggest change from the Stateline build is the door. She didn't want windows, but she also didn't want a dark box, so we specified a cedar door with a full clear-glass panel. That gets daylight in and a view out through one piece of glass, instead of adding window openings that leak heat. The rest is what we like in a small sauna: a 6 kW Harvia KIP with Xenio WiFi controls, an AC Infinity CloudLine exhaust fan with adjustable vents so the air stays fresh with the door shut, two-tier redwood benches, and cedar on the walls and ceiling. The exterior is T1-11 siding painted to match the house, with an architectural-shingle shed roof.
